Summary

Starting in August, the association organized a Mentor Coffee Chat series that brought together nine senior professionals from banking, quant research, trading, risk, funds, the Federal Reserve, and FinTech. The sessions used small-group formats of three to five people to discuss job functions, career development, career decisions, and personal growth.

Overview

As summer classes ended and many students entered the workforce, the association invited nine experienced finance mentors to hold in-person Coffee Chat sessions for small groups of students.

Format and Topics

The program ran from August for nearly a month and featured guests from major banks, quantitative research, trading, risk, investment funds, the Federal Reserve, and FinTech startups.

Each session centered on three to five participants and covered job functions, job-search methods, career development opportunities, and reflections on personal choices and self-realization.

Feedback

Students praised the mentors' wisdom and warmth and hoped the association would continue to organize similar exchanges in the future.
